About the Stochastic process:
Stochastic or FM (frequency modulation) Screening is used to reproduce fine detail, eliminate moire patterns and produce a much wider color gamut than conventional offset screening. Conventional screening utilizes round dots and screen angles. The stochastic process converts a continuous tone image into a very specialized random pattern of various density dots. This creates a finer, more realistic, near continuos tone reproduction of the original image or artwork.
