Company History

History

Unigraphic Color Corp was incorporated on May 4, 1972 by Robert Aben to engage in the commercial printing business as well as advertising and direct mail promotions, in a small print shop leased at 2 East Main St, Plymouth, Pennsylvania, utilizing equipment purchased from the former owner.

In October of 1972, following the Agnes flood, the company relocated to 301 West Main St, Plymouth and embarked upon a 34 year expansion program, resulting in one of the largest and most technologically proficient commercial printing and pre-press facilities in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It acquired its first four color press in 1979 and its first two five color presses in 1986

To supplement its existing offset printing operations, Unigraphic Color Corp. entered the web press, continuous feed printing market in 1979 through its merger with Web Graphics, Inc. The web presses were located in a facility acquired by Unigraphic Color Corp. at 180 West Main Street. In 1997 the company acquired a one- half size web press to provide high quality heat set web printing. At the same time Unigraphic Color Corp. relocated its bindery functions to 180 West Main Street and in 2002 the facility was substantially enlarged and completely renovated.

Currently, Unigraphic Color Corp. provides superior quality digital, low cost, short run printing, five color Heidelberg commercial production with Stochastic screening ability, and five color web printing services to a broad range of commercial printing customers located throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, the company operates an extensive electronic pre-press facility, at which it provides digital photography, scanning and proofing services, as well as computer to plate systems, and post production finishing, binding and direct mail services.
